So Loobylu‘s Month of Softies theme for June is “June Bug”. Which I wasn’t going to do, being lazy and all. However I saw a soft toy somewhere with lazy daisy stitching, which roused me from my winter torpor enough to wonder if I could do it. Turns out I can. Sort of. And then whilst watching Lost, I realised I could probably make the fabric scrap I was playing with into a soft toy. And then whilst watching The Amazing Race I added a bee flying amongst the flowers. And then I realised I had made a June Bug. On a cat-type toy, it is true, but that’s a bug on its belly.

The cat is made from navy polarfleece and stuffed with polyfilling. The embroidery is all done freehand from various threads I have lying around. The camellia bush the cat is sitting on is flowering madly in the back garden.

All of this unaccustomed activity has made me sleepy. I’ll be climbing back into my hibernation state now.
I love the cat-bug type thingy. Its the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
